We, Rod and Kim, have been married 35+ years and have enjoyed hosting numerous gatherings for family and friends throughout our time together as a couple. We have three married children of our own and know how much planning and preparation goes into a wedding. We want to serve others as they go through the process of getting ready to tie the knot and make it as stress free as possible. Our barn has been passed down through the family having belonged to Rod's late grandfather and the transformation into a beautiful, rustic venue has been a labor of love. Outside of business, we enjoy the outdoors. Rod is an avid hunter and farmer, and Kim likes to garden and preserve the fruits of their labors. We also love animals. Over our married life we have owned many Labrador retrievers, and currently we have two mischievous gray cats, Harry and Marv. Their namesakes were chosen from one of our favorite movies, "Home Alone." We look forward to sharing our beautiful barn venue and farm with you knowing you will appreciate the country setting we have to offer for your big day!
Our barn was built in 1882 and has been in the family for several generations thus giving it its namesake. Wanting to share its rustic charm with the local community, we decided to turn the barn and grounds into a venue where weddings and other special events could be held.
Ideal for couples who wish to wed in a rural setting, The Heritage Barn, LLC is a rustic wedding venue located in Oliveburg, Pennsylvania which is near Punxsutawney, home of the famous groundhog. The name was inspired by the fact that the farm has been in the family for several generations.
From our beautiful pergola swing set with fire pit to our corn hole game space, our venue offers a range of amenities to make your wedding day unforgettable. We offer several packages to suit your desires and budget, including an extensive list of local vendors for everything from catering to accommodations for out-of-town guests. Let us take care of the details so you can focus on making memories!
One of our wedding ceremony sites is situated on a hilltop with breathtaking views and is reached by taking a ride in our hay wagons pulled by a John Deere tractor.
The 1882 inscription on one of the foundation stones attests to the year this gem was masterfully built with its hand-hewn beams and posts. Now fully restored the barn is still the crown jewel amid the grassy fields. From the indoor plumbing, with stalls built from reclaimed tongue and groove of the former granary to the custom-designed bar also built with salvaged barn boards, no detail has been overlooked. The hay loft has been re-fashioned for Birdseye view seating or can be a great perch for the DJ. Rustic chandeliers, twinkle lights, and numerous antiques, original to the farm, are tastefully displayed throughout. All the decor has been carefully planned so that you can easily coordinate your decorating to enhance the beauty that is already there.
The seating capacity allows for 180 guests in spring and summer and 150 guests in the fall. Both the covered deck and back porch provide outdoor seating and the barn itself is well-ventilated for everyone's maximum comfort. As a bonus, there is an extra patio seating area for guests to relax as they converse and wait for a chance to play some cornhole. A pergola with swings, a fire pit, and a s'more bar area round out the amenities everyone can enjoy.
If you choose to marry on the premises, there is a bridal suite and groom's changing shed for getting ready. Two outdoor ceremony site options are available, and the lower level of the barn is available in case of inclement weather. Both outdoor sites have a simplistic arbor that you are free to enhance with florals and greenery. The hilltop site is extra special with its views of the rolling hills and fields and can be accessed with a pleasant ride to the top via a hay wagon.
The staff at the Heritage Barn provides event planning services to ensure that your wedding runs smoothly. They can assist you with set up and breakdown, provide bar services, and suggest local vendors for all your needs from catering to overnight accommodations. They promise that you will be proud to hold your wedding and reception at their countryside location, and your guests will appreciate the beautiful surroundings as they help celebrate the joining of your two hearts.
